Stereotypes and Eurovision have acted very badly to the real image of spaniards. Some people believe that Spanish people are always partying and say “oleeee!” instead of “cool” or “awesome”.
Well, there are truths and lies, shades and lights. Here I come as a madrileño to through some light on this:

We do not dress like bullfighters nor “sevillanas” 💃

We give two kisses 😘 to say hi (first on the right cheek, then on the left cheek).

We have lunch 🥘 at 2h and dinner at 9h, or even later.

When the sun goes up, we are always on the street. Specially in Summer.☀️

We don’t take a “siesta” 😴 every day, just some very special days.

Staying at the table after lunch 🍴 (“sobremesa”) is a good time for bonding and business.

We used to speak loudly, but we are not necessary angry 😇

We are extremely sociable: we become friends 👫 after the first 5 minutes talking.
